I think I'd just get some bar-stock from scrap or Enco drill it to match the toothbar, grind to fit on either end, and get some longer grade-8 bolts to bolt it on. If you have the ability to weld, I'd put a couple of strong tack welds to attach it to the toothbar. As everyone suggests, it should function without problems.
