i just picked up the echo cs-400. only have a couple hours of use on it but so far its great. the kid that works for me has a buddy that owns a tree svc company and thats all he uses is echo. says they run all day long and dont mis a beat. my dad has always been a sthil guy. he has 2 of them and while i can say they are built real beefy and nice, in the past 10 years there has always been one of them that didn't run or was in the shop. they have also always been very hard starting saws. i have heard that also from a number of other sthil owners. granted my echo is new but that this is running on the first pull by the time the pull cord is 6" out of the saw. the echo is very lightweight but could have a bit more balls. no regrets so far plus i picked it up new off ebay for only 200 bucks. how can you go wrong??
