Default Recomendation for Tooth Bar

Hi, I recently upgraded tractors and went from a 48" bucket to a 50" (didnt gain much here except lift capacity 200+ lbs.) When I had my 48" I had a toothbar that I was able to keep on the trade in. My new bucket is 50" as mentioned and I would love to keep and attach the 48" toothbar. Is this possible? And if so what could I do/use to make it happen.

Thanks

Sounds like a couple 1-inch spacers to me... or an awful lot of fender washers!

On the other hand, if you are set-up to weld, you can have your custom fit back again in no time at all.

Doug's idea is best, either weld or have welded spacers on each end at the bolt hole. The bolts only keep the bar from falling off, there should be no real pressure on them...

Another option is to cut some spacers from a piece of galvanized pipe, then no welding would be required-just longer bolts witch you'd need with welding spacers also.

I forget if you told us the machine you have but I must say that is a strange bucket size and not much bigger than what you had already in the 48". Im used to the typical next size up being a 53" bucket, where you can buy them readily for $200 to $300 easily. But what Kenny and Doug mention might be the best way for 2".

I think I'd just get some bar-stock from scrap or Enco drill it to match the toothbar, grind to fit on either end, and get some longer grade-8 bolts to bolt it on. If you have the ability to weld, I'd put a couple of strong tack welds to attach it to the toothbar. As everyone suggests, it should function without problems.
When you're through, we expect to see it and pics of the project in the customization forum.

Try Markham Welding. Many others have purchased from them in the past.
