I'll tell you what!...It'll be a long time before I order something through Tractor Supply again. I ordered a Speeco 3pt log-splitter on May 7th, and have been chasing after them ever since. It's on the way...be here tuesday, coming in soon that's all I heard. Today I called TSC again, and found that the District Mgr. was on the premises. I talked with him on the phone, and he looked into the situation. Got a call back...it's on the way...should be here today or tomorrow, says the DM. DM says it was shipped special, direct from the manufacturer to the store. I could'a, should'a built it myself, and probably will the next time!
Did talk to a nice fella over at 'Ramsplitter' though, and I kinda think now that I should'a talked to him a month ago!

Well, with the current trucking problems...IT may ACTUALLY have been beyond their control...

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

The wood-splitter finally arrived, and I picked it up today. After complaining to the District Mgr on Tues, it shoed up on it's own truck on Fri, go figure. I'm pleased with the heavy-duty construction of the main unit, the legs are a-bit flimsy, but can be re-inforced. Had all the hydraulic hoses made today, and hopefully I'll get it hooked up to the i-match and the tractor in the morning. I've got about 4 cord waiting to be split.

Thumbs up Speeco 3pt logsplitter

Today seemed like a great day, weather-wise, to do some log-splitting in prep for the coming winter season. I thought I'd snap a couple of pics of the Speeco 3pt log-splitter all hooked up for those who've inquired previously.

If the GF ever sees this product, I am dead! She'll be demanding fires in the fireplace every single night!!!

I'm very interested in this particular splitter. I've been eyeing it at a local dealer, but I'm afraid it would be slow on my tractor:

Max. Pump Capacity: 9.9 gal./min. @ 2600
Attachment Pump: 5.6 gal./min. @ 2600
Power Steering: 4.3 gal./min. @ 2600

I assume that even parked, I still have much of the capacity dedicated to power steering. Would 5 gal/minute = slow splitting?

Your attachment pump capacity is the same as mine, and has enough umph to go through whatever this unit can reasonably handle. I have split logs which were 24"-30" in diameter without hesitation, and gone through black walnut, red oak, ash and hickory without noticing any difference. The cycle time is slower than a unit like Paul's, but while I find it a bit more enjoyable to work at measured pace, I would not mind if the cycle time were just a tad quicker. That said, the splitter is not traveling full length each and every stroke. I did purchase this unit anticipating that I will be upgrading to a larger tractor in the near future, and the larger tractor will have a larger pump capacity, which will speed up cycle times by approx half, comparable to what a unit like Paul's can do. I run the tractor at 1400 rpms while splitting, and it uses very little fuel at this speed. I like the splitter on the rear of the tractor, and it can be operated both vertically and horizontally.
I'll see if I can find a way to video the unit and post that.
It has a 4" x 24" cylinder, and I think that the cycle time is in the 25 second range, for a full cycle.
