    Default Hay grapple

Ok thinking about building a hay grapple. Starting to look for parts and hit the first stumbling block. Any one know where one could purchase say about 20 of these????

That would an interesting build!!!..... I did a search on the web, and had no luck.... One of the search results that came back was from 2007, and a guy was lookin' for them also.

You may have to get them from the link that Paul posted.

That's a part that would be hard to make, because of the shape of it, and it would cost a lot to buy the metal to make them.

    Good-Luck!

I'm currently in the planning stages. Gathering info and pictures. I'm hoping I can find one on a dealers lot and take about 100 pictures and measurements.

Someone on another site has already built one and he made the hooks. I'm hoping he will share his CAD file. If he does I can whip them up at work lickety split.

It just so happens that we have one of these on the shop floor.

As far as the cost to me steel is cheap. It's the 30 pack for the machine operator that can get pricey.

If I can't get the CAD file I'll have to find one trace it and put it into CAD.

When I said ''it would be hard to make because of the shape'',.. I was talking about cutting them out with a Plasma or using O&A, and working by hand, and all that grinder work..... Not with a big piece of equipment like in the link you posted!!!

That sure is nice!!!..... Yeah, I think they would be easy to make using that!

On the search I found from 2007, there was a phone #, and the place was: (Dry Creek Farms and Supply, Hesston, KS.).... Here's were I found the info... Click HERE.... But that's old, and they could be out of business.

I'm glad you can get metal cheap.... It's high in my area.

I work for a strctural steel fabricator. So doing it by hand would be out of the question. With that machine the hardest part is loading the plate onto the bed, and you use an overhead crane to do that. Once the plate is on the bed, push the button and within 10 minutes I'll have 20 of those cut out. Cuts are so clean no grinding required!!!

We have what we call pattern cardboard on the shop floor. I go nowhere without a sheet of it in the truck.

Having any luck ''old Edster'' ??

Since I don't have a machine like that or access to one, I have to do all the work by hand.... And I hate using a grinder..... Are you sure your not related to me in any way.

Edster, Look at this picture, and look how much it cost.

Click HERE..... I typed in ''pictures of a hay grapple'' and several came back in the search.

That price is for the accumulator and the grapple. Grapples tend to range from $2000 to $4000 depending on who makes it. The $4000 is for the grappalator which is what I plan on building.

Good news on the CAD file. THe guy I have been talking to will be emailing me the file shortly. Now all I have to do is have it input into the FBB machine, load the palte and push start.

    My bad on the accumulator.

I'm sure you can build the ''hay grapple'' A LOT cheaper than the cost of a new one, and it would be better built!!!

Glad you got the ''CAD file''!!!..... It must be nice to just load & push start.

Lookin' forward when you start building it!
