Earlier today, I saw a 3pt hitch set up on a Kubota B1700 and the top link is connected to the tractor 4.5 inches above the pto cover which allows the top link to be let out thereby allowing pitch and height adjustment for any 3 pt implement. But, on the SC2400, the bottom of the top link is connected to the tractor 8 inches above the pto cover which, when connected to a 3 pt implement, doesn't allow it to be let out at all. I didn't have time today to call the dealer about the way the Kubota is set up but will call him in the morning.

Is you Cat 1 Toplink as short as this?
TOP LINK - 250mm Kubota Iseki Compact Tractor Cat 1 on eBay, also, Farm Implements Equipment, Agriculture Farming, Business, Office Industrial (end time 20-Aug-08 09:54:19 BST)

Your other option is to ADD Pat's Easy Hitch...which requires additional distance on your toplink...

You have the shorter toplink too - dont know if they make it smaller than that one...but if they did it would help. Any top link mfg should work, you dont have to got to Cub/yanmar to get one

I noticed you got your blade from Corriher - I got my rake, aerator, tiller and Box blade from them....they are part of Tarheel now (acquired by them)

The other link you provided about the top link would work too being the Cat 1 top link on the SC2400 is 2.5 inches longer than the top link listed on Ebay but knowing that I've pinched my fingers and strained my back a few times hooking up a 3pt implement that hitch system sounds like a dream come true. In reading over it's specs, it sounds like I'd gain between 2.5 to 3 inches which should allow the bottom of the blade to be raised higher off of the ground. No wonder I like this forum...Thanks again, you've made my day...

Ducati, Thanks for the info, too. I've been looking at all mfg's of top links and can't find anyone who has a shorter one, except for the link Paul posted. As for the rear blade, I haven't bought it yet but my friend got it when he ordered his New Holland TC 18 a few years ago. Back then, he got a really good deal when prices for fuel were half of what they are now and Corriher had some good deals. I know if he were to buy a tractor today and have it shipped, there's no way he'd save as much, due to the price of fuel, as he saved back then.

Well Bill...if you had purchased a REAL TRACTOR(LIKE A BIG GREEN ONE...)...then we wouldn't have had to jump thru these hoops...

Glad we could help...

Oh, by the way...you are now the current expert on Pat's System...and we will expect answers in the future...

Paul, Thanks again for the link to Pat's System. It works like their web site said it would and is very simple to install, too. I'll keep you updated if I find something that might need changed but I doubt I'll find anything. The folks who made it have taken their time and thought out all the details. I just wish I would've had a set sooner for the other tractors I had because once it's set up correctly, it's a breeze to hook up to any 3pt implement and there's no straining on my part, at all.

Speaking of a "Big Green One", a few years ago,I almost bought one from a JD dealer in Somerset, Pa. It had 7000 hrs on it and was either a 1020 or 2020 turbo. Physically the tractor was like brand new (2yrs old) and the price was right for sure ($4000). It was used by the Coleman Camper Co. to pull the campers off of the assembly line and according to the dealer who had it for sale, it was never shut off and ran constantly. I was about to buy it but changed my mind when I found a significant amount of oil in the radiator. After I priced a rebuild, I ended up bying a Ford 3000, instead.

Well, have a good ond and I'll keep you all up to date on how well Pat's System works and also how well the Sc2400 works out, too.

Bill

I have a couple of customers that have purchased the Pat's Easy Change System. They all seem very happy with it.

Sounds you you dodged a bullet...
That sure seems like they never bothered with any maintenance...

Well, you have a new one now, so any lack of maintenance issues we'll all know who was at fault...

Have fun with your bumblebee...

Here's a suggestion that may get you another 3" of lift. I found out about this on the Kubota forum over at tractorbynet: Drill an additional hole in each of the lift arm rods where they attach the lift arms and pin the lift arms in the new holes. Now that I've confused you, let me explain. The rod that comes from the pivot arm to the lift arm (implement connection arm) has a "U" with a hole in it. A removable pin holds the rod to the arm. If you are with me so far, by drilling a hole into the "U" above the existing hole (1/2" to maybe as much as an inch depending on the length of the "U") will you considerable more lift at the end of the lift arm.

I did this on my scut kubota and it really helped w/ a post hole digger and rototiller.
