Points: 0 | Very sad to see this as it means the end to the JD/Yanmar relationship.

Points: 0 | This makes us Cub fans very happy though. JD has the ability to make competent machinery. Cub, on the other hand, seems to only have the ability to made competent garden tractors. The 5K and 6K machines, while great on paper, are not good machines for most folk that use them, especially when you consider that they are no price bargains. But now with the Yanmar partnership they'll have reliable and capable machines to compete with JD and Kubota.
BTW, I saw an EX3200 at my dealer a couple weeks back: $23K with loader, bh, bh thumb, work lights, just about every option you can get from the factory. That's not bad for a 32hp machine. Hopefully this new creature will be aggressively priced as well. |

Funny though…six months ago dealers and friends ‘in the know’ were getting ready for the ripple effect when Yanmar and Deere officially parted. Three months ago, and we were still talking about it, JD still offers many (some new) models powered by Yanmar.
If the contract has, indeed ended, there must have been an agreement to renew it by limitations or a temporary extension as they continue to supply engines, drive train components and hard parts (even if they no longer build their CUTs). For sure suppositions on my part - but the higher up’s on the corporate level…ain’t talkin.
RE CC/Yanmar: Has anyone been able to find any owner reviews on the EX3200?? I have searched endlessly and still come up empty.

Points: 0 | Yanmar will not be providing any new models to JD, but I'm sure they're under contract to supply parts for a long time, probably 10 years or more. I believe their engine deals are a separate beast, and may continue (or not) for years regardless of the new partnership with Cub.
I have not found any owner reviews of the EX3200. There was one guy that posted on TBN when he picked one up. Had a few photos of him at the dealer, but no follow-up since that initial post. However I did read a dealer's take on it: it's basically an updated and enhanced JD 790. No specifics on what's "updated" or "enhanced", but gives you a starting point at least. |

Points: 0 | I'm wondering how successsful Cub is going to be with this venture. We have an old line Cub dealer in town, we're in a farming district but when I look on the Cub site for a dealer for these new models, the closest one to me is 140 miles away in another state. Local dealer is/has been listed as an official Yanmar dealer for yrs but the local JD dealership is selling the Yanmar T-80's.
I'm wondering how agressive Cub/Yanmar are in getting broad representation across the whole country where farming is a big business?

Points: 0 | When the EX first came out my dealer said he had no plans to sell them. Two months later he ordered one for a customer that wanted one (sight unseen), even though he's not listed as an authorized Cub/Yanmar dealer. Now that he's sold at least one it'll be interesting to see if he shows up as an authorized Cub/Yanmar dealer, and not just a Cub dealer. |
