My reason for using the same company's backhoe...is because I KNOW that the subframe will fit...

Now where did that custom installation tool go...better known as an 8 pound sledge...

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Before I pull the trigger on the EX3200, does anyone want to suggest another tractor I should look at? Should I even consider a Massey Ferguson 1500 series? They have 0% 60/mo financing. Are there any opinions on that or another tractor in the same class?

Dont buy it unless you are 100% sure - take the time and decide with no regrets or second guessing. This isnt a negative at all towards Cub/Yanmar just the standard buyers remorse that always creeps up on us all.

The only model that comes to mind is the B3030 from Kubota. Otherwise you are in great shape in your selection

My local JD Dealer just made me a pretty interesting offer. He offered to come very close (within $400, and hinted he could sweeten it) to what the lowest price I had been able to get on the EX3200. Basically, we'd be looking at a 3203 w/woods 7' backhoe, thumb & toothbar for almost the same price as the EX3200 w/ the same configuration.

Would I be crazy to buy the EX3200?

- EX3200 has 32hp @ 2600rpm vs 32hp @ 2800rpm for the deere
- 3-range HST tranny vs 2 range for the 3203
- EX has mid PTO, 3203 does not
- undoubtedly lower resale value on the EX3200, though I don't plan to sell
- JD dealer says parts will be way easier & cheaper for the Deere
- Cub has 4.9% financing for 72 months, JD has 0% for 36 months

What do you guys think?

I'd say it comes down to your dealer support. Yes, in general, JD will probably hold value better than Cub/Yanmar until C/Y gets established, but the JD3203 is a new, economy model, so who knows what its resale value will be.

The EX is basically a JD790 with hydro, new sheet metal, new loader & backhoe. The 790 is a proven workhorse, and Yanmar has a reputation for building good machines. I had a YM1401 back in the early 90's before they lost their US license to JD, and it was a really nice machine.

The CB75 is more hoe than the BH70X. The EX probably has both a bigger motor and more torque than the JD based on the hp/rpm ratings. JD parts probably will be easier to track down for the first few years of C/Y's existence until they get established, and as to way cheaper, well, I don't find JD anything to be anywhere near inexpensive, at least out here. C/Y also has 0/36, in addition to the longer term lower rates.

I might more seriously consider the EX if I had an established C/Y dealer that also sells one of the bigger known brands, such as Emerich, because regardless of what happens to C/Y down the road, there would be a dealer to support me for years to come. The C/Y dealers here sell off-brands, and don't seem to be much more than a storefront to move product, that could up and clear out their "suite" in a matter of hours.

KUBOTA B3030 with R4s, fender mount FEL joystick, 40 amp alternator, block heater, loaded rears, LA403 w/60" bucket, BH75 w/12" bucket, pin-type QA, pallet forks, & Landpride RB2572, Bro-Tek thumb.
Old attachments: Midwest LR2072 rake w/gauge wheels, Rhino SE4 rotary cutter, 3pt trailer receiver.

That's true that there is 0% for 48 months on the EX2900 because they are just not selling. The price is too close to the EX3200. I recommend the EX3200.

Quote - JD dealer says parts will be way easier & cheaper for the Deere ( NO WAY )
JD doesn't give away their parts. We sold Yanmar Tractors in the 80's and parts were always alot cheaper thru Yanmar than thru JD

Thanks

Kevin-
Is the EX3200 made in Japan and the EX2900 made in the USA?
