First: I hope you actually see or somehow pinpoint the cause of your weak boom structure.
Second: I encourage you to do something about it.

Hope my words of wisdom helps.

Well, I think I'll start with what Theweldor recommended: Check it over thoroughly for cracks on Monday... and take it from there. Maybe there is something wrong with it that I just haven't discovered yet. I don't think so... but I can't say with certainty until I pick up a couple of those heavy, off-center loads and take a real close look.

Check for cracks in the paint. I have seen from time to time where the only thing I could find was a crack in the paint. Peel or grind the paint off and there is a crack underneath it. How do you like the Red Beast. I would like to fetch up a little compact this year.

I love my TYM-made 2004 Mahindra 4110 with its Bradco 509 backhoe w/thumb and its KMW ML112 loader (currently fitted with a 66" CAT ultra-heavy-duty toothed skidsteer bucket. I bought it "slightly used" in 2006 and it has been great. It's as heavy a tractor/loader/backhoe as I can possibly transport at this time... and I don't see myself ever selling it.

Oh no, I am dead serious here. Ain't too many things that the poor old Dougster™ is 100.00% serious about, but you can take this one to the bank. Even with a PowerBall lottery win that would see me adding an M59, Mahindra 7520 and Deere 410J to the stable... the 4110 is staying!!!

No cracks to be found anywhere. Not even a hint of a crack. So now back to where we started: Would adding a second, smaller crossbrace like the one on the ML275's boom do me any good in terms of adding axial torsional stiffness? Or am I still barking up the wrong tree?
