What a blast...I'm used to digging out stumps and boulders with the bh, but this week the bro-in-law asked for help fixing a water problem in his basement. I dug a french drain, 6ft deep by 40ft long with the 2520/46bh in 2hrs. The 46bh is really a neat unit, but what a blast to get into a little bit bigger project. Only problem...I forgot to take pics  , but I got my little nephew and niece up on my knee operating the hoe with me. Gotta start-em young!  |

ok , i have a stupid question , Why is it called
a french drain . why not a drainage ditch or something.
where did the idea of french drain come from....  |
John Deere 2520 , R4's , 200CX loader with 61 inch bucket and JD Tooth Bar. And Markham 7 tooth. Tooth bar. 46 Backhoe with 16 inch bucket. with Custom made Street Flip pads off a 448 hoe. Foward work lights. Dual rear work lights. Heavy duty Alternator. I-Match , Ballast Box , Frontier BB2060 box blade , Frontier pallet Forks , JD 3 point reciever hitch. and soon A lot more.. and for grass cutting , John Deere GX 255 with 48 inch deck.  | |

They are the answer to some home with high ground water problems. My oldest, Jeff, had one put in a few yrs back. Took care of his high ground water problems. No more indoor pool under the floor during wet winters. |

Around here many farmers have this kind of drain install in their fields. Lets the farmer get on the field in the spring weeks earlier than in fileds that don't have a drain installed. |

Unless you are an illegal alien. Then you don't need a license or permit for anything.
