You got that right! I noticed a big difference between my gear drive Ford 1210 and the HST of the Kubota. The Kubota tended to stay locked onto the slippery surface much better than the gear drive ever did.
In fact, I depended on the slippage with the gear driven Ford, as a means to make Starsky and Hutch style sliding turn arounds!

The Kubota stayed locked down in terms of traction, I was pretty impressed. So, yes, I would have no qualms about stepping up to a full 60" blade. But that would mean the front walkway would suffer.

Of course my wife would hate it, she cannot stand shovelling the front walk.

I hate to admit, I leave the 54" blade on the 425 to do the walk, and use the Meyers on the 2520 to do all the rest!

JD 2520 w/46bh, 200cx loader, meyers 6ft plow
jd 425 w/54"mmm& 54"plow
