Default 54" Deere Plow on a Kubota BX

I recently finished up this project in time for winter. I found a 54" Deere front Plow assembly off of a 316 or 318 series tractor and adapted it as a front plow on my BX2350.

Background: I could have gotten the Kubota factory plow, but when you factor the Kubota front hitch and then add the plow to it, it's getting pretty expensive. So I kept watching Craig's and Flea-bay and finally, luckily spied an ad for a Deere tractor, not running, but the guy mentioned having a blade he would sell separately.
Long story short, I got a 54" with Hydraulic Lift, but not Power angle kit.
The grapple helped with unloading:

I did a total disassemble, wire wheel, and paint job.

I scarfed up 2 NOS hydraulic cylinders and made pwoer angle brackets. (A and B in the pic.)

KennyD chastised me for painting a Deere implement orange, but we both finally came to terms with it, no blood was shed.

Next came the fun part, making an adapter assembly which would firmly bolt onto the BX frame to accept the Deere implement pins.

Ordered a 3' wide piece of 5160 Carbon spring steel, and made a Carbon steel cutting edge to replace the 2 piece edge that was original.

Later (not pictured) I added a 4" wide piece of rubber belt material as a squeegie.

He dared remove the sacred JD sticker from the blade...sacrilege!!! What's coming next, cubbies with green JD weights...

I must admit that the orange on the blade seems to have a hint of yellow!!!

The 54" blade is really the minimum amount I can use. A 60" would be more like it.

The upside to the 54" blade is that i can plow our front cobblestone walk to our front door. it's about 100 feet long, and 5 feet wide, so, shovelling isn't like a 5 minute job.

So, while I would love to have the 5 foot blade width, at least the 54" does give some added bonus doing the front walk.

I am thinking about some Quick Attach extensions for each side of the blade, something that could be rigged to slide into a piece of channel and fastened with a pin or two. That way I could use the width on the driveway, then disconnect the extensions for sidewalk duty.

Anyone have any thoughts???

Nice work, looks well done! I agree, a little more width would be an advantage and the tractor wouldn't even notice.
