Default RimGuard -Liquid ballast (beet juice)

I thought I would share how I introduced my Local Deere and Kubota dealers
to RimGuard. They werent carrying it and only used CaCL which is great but can/will corrode rims and if it leaks on the ground ruin the area for vegetation.
I purchased my 2520 from a dealer in CT (I'm LI , NY based) and always worried about getting a flat, and how I would get more RimGuard. Made a few calls and sent out a few emails, and now they both carry it (or in process).
Sounds like they offer a great plan for those who work on tires - see below

Subject: RE: Need the nearest dealer in my area for RimGuard -

-- Unfortunately we don’t have a dealer in the area. The best thing to do is contact a local Ag tire or Ag implement dealer who does liquid ballast filling, tell him about Rim Guard, and have him contact us about becoming a Rim Guard dealer. We’ll provide his storage tank at no charge and he can use the same installation equipment he uses for other types of liquid ballast. We’ll all win. You’ll get your tires filled locally, we’ll get a new dealer, and the dealer will have a much better product to sell. Thank you for contacting us. Phil at Rim Guard

Really makes a difference; even in a sub-CUT such as I have. I was able to get ~ 110 lbs. in each of my rear tires and find it is enough for light loader work (brush, mulch etc), but when I need to get into heavier stuff, on goes the ballast box filled with concrete.

BTW, it was a good idea to get a local source. I was in the woods with mine last year and managed to clip off a valve stem. It was a long trip home with the tire sprinkler on! At least it didn't kill the grass and if animals got into it, they wouldn't die.

Cheers

Im not sure but does the 2210/2305 have that half ring around the stem?
and if it does you still clipped the stem?

I have been real lucky with flats and now I got a local source - just in time

Its just an economical way of adding serious weight to the machine - its its good weight that isnt on the axle like wheel weights..
I think my tires weigh 400lbs or more each...not something I want to deal with unless I have to, but the BH stabilizers make tire changes a snap -

Duc,

No, the 2210 has standard rubber valve stems. It's just one of a few small features if Deere have made options available, I would have jumped on them. But I guess I can understand if they give their advantage series to many of the options the bigger tractors have, sales would suffer.

Cheers

that doesnt take away from the tractor at all and would cost pennies to add to the rim. if you find a welder, literally it woul take him minutes/seconds to add a wrap around piece of metal, you would have to repaint. I never even thought how effective it was until now.

Good idea; I'll have to put that on my to-do list.

I think Chris can add some commentary to how best to project the valve stem, and not having to find other rims or bare that expense
