If I have to, I'll make a mock-up out of wood and check it.

OOps..wait a minute. i have a drawing on paper I have been looking at, then there is the one i posted. The one on paper has the linkages at the opposite angle, free to travel backward, the one posted in this thread would be prevented from pivoting up by it's pressure against the ground......unless it runs into a hole or a void, then it would be imperative to have a STOP.

We had a warm spell here in Maryland. I was welding in a tee shirt it was so warm.

Made a little more progress on the dethatcher.

Here is a pic of the Hinge/Pivot sub-assemblies. Two of these are the pivot point between the tractor mount and the tine-carrier frame.
5/8" pins.

here is a pic of the swivel wheel assembly. Hair pin is temporary, will use Lynch pins, washers spacers and maybe a compression spring to keep the swivel tight.

Well, it looks like your mounting system has been designed...

A little more progress this weekend , working on the lift mechanism (floating linkage) and the tension springs. The second photo is just doing "what if" mock-ups to check lengths and distances, not truly what it will look like.

Should have a couple more pics by this evening.
Until then, will be in the workshop.

I apologize for the size of those last pics, I hope everyone is on DSL or better??

Over the weekend got some more done. Waiting on a couple of hydraulic fitting now. I was able to take it for a spin , a beta-test. Not perfect, but it passed for it's first run. Springs need to be a little tighter.

Mickey suggested a "stop" ,which I had planned to isntall, but now, I realize it's needed for something I never thought about, backing up!
It needs to be a forward stop, so that when backing up the tine carrier doesn't clash with the tires/swivels.

I expect some more fine tuning.

Here are pics right after the test run.

No parts falling off=success.

IT WORKS!! IT WORKS!!!

Used it over the weekend on the first Lawn Mow of the season. I had let the grass go for as long as I dared, but, the time had come to do the first mow.

The rake attachment performed admirably, did it's job, unmatting grass, lifting up packed down leaves and little sticks that fell during the winter.

It's not something I want to use all the time, but several times per season, and of course during fall clean-up it's gonig to come in real handy.

Another project finished

Gunmaker, good to hear, hope you like it.

I just used mine again, last week. We've had a lot of rain, and fast growing grass. It had gotten extra long, so i cut it, tyhen waited a day or two for it to start drying out. Attached the front mount dethatcher, and hooked up the lawn vac. Set the deck so it only took another 1/4" off of what had just been cut.

I ended up with about a 1 Yard pile of grass clippings. Raked, cut and vacced up.

This is gonna be the ticket come fall for leaf pick-up.
