Default JD 2210 homemade cab install

Hi all,

Here are some install pics of my cab. Just for a little background, I got this from a friend who makes racecars. When he moved from CT to TN where it doesn't snow, I took the cab off of his hands. The idea here is that some of you fabricators might get some ideas from this.
Start with the 2210 (For now I have to change from the foldable ROPS to the OEM one, but when I get a chance will make some modifications):

Install first upright (all sheet metal is aluminum):

Upright uses (4) 1/4-20 bolts to attach to back of ROPS:

And two bolts to front/inside of ROPS for rigidity:

Little aluminum brackets close in lights:

Second upright installed:

Rear window is plexiglass and attaches with dzus fasteners (1/4 turn aircraft fasteners). Not rear light too:

Front upright goes on and attaches with single bolt through the plastic operators platform:

There are going to be a lot of pics so I'm going to split this over several posts.

Cheers

Default JD 2210 homemade cab install (2)

Continued.

Support piece between front and rear upright is attached with two dzus fasteners:

Another view:

This upright is a little more complicated, as it includes the heater core:

Hoses are routed through footpedal opening (note ball valves):

Here's a good view of how the front upright fits into the hood gap:

Second support on:

Windshield is the heaviest part with the safety glass and wiper motor:

Go to 3rd post.

Cheers

Default JD 2210 homemade cab install (3)

Continued.

Front view of windshield (again attached with dzus fasteners):

View of heater box and fan unit:

Heater hoses tap into 2210 cooling system with quick couplers:

Hoses are almost hidden with engine covers on:

Roof goes on with dzus fasteners:

Doors slip into hinges and have real automotive style latches on both; windows are plexiglass:

Unit barely fits in shed (I wasn't as smart as some of you who built a big-enough shed!):

Pic from the only snowstorm last year that was plowable:

Install/removal only takes ~ 15 min's.

Cheers

gunmaker and kennyd,

Thanks for your kind words. I'm a businessman with more ideas than time. Sometimes it is just better to share ideas than try to capitalize on them.

Cheers

I bet if we cut you down to just one vacation a year.
and we came and stold your golf clubs.
we could get a cab design laid out on paper.
and a new shed build.....
and maybe even a new hoe....
