Default Old Car Club & Tractor Show Photos

I finally got around to putting up photos from last June to my website.

Lancaster Old Car Club's Spring Festival 2009 - Lancaster, Ohio USA

If you try to use the slide show on this one, be patient as it is a large file. It takes about 60 seconds to download on my 300Kb/sec download DSL connection.

Also put up photos from another tractor show. It was rainy, dark and dreary day for this show last fall.

Great! I got up to about #85 in the slideshow and realized I would have to close it and come back later, gotta get outside while the sun shines. When I was in high school, I had a job evenings and weekends at a Texaco service station. Man, looking at those vintage autos evoked some specific regular customers faces and their cars from back then. Is there such a thing as "Nostalgia Overdose"? If so, I'm suffering an attack right now!

Great Pictures and cars, as usual, Mark. Thanks for posting for all to see.

I have a soft spot for the old Stude coupes and the Advanti.

What can you tell us about the last pic, the double ended car?

Junk, if you've looked at the pics, Mark has and uses the same Fuji camera I have and spoke about last week.
Practice makes perfect: After many decade of hard work and practice, it now takes almost no effort to get tired.

One engine was a plastic model. IIRC the model engine was a small block V8 and the working engine was either a straight 8 or 6. But boy, you had to stand there and study it to know which end was working and which was following. The give away that the owner pointed it out was that due to clearance issues on the model engine he only used the top half of the air filter cover. So if there were an actual air filter under there it would have only been a little over an inch tall. Outside the engines the interior and exterior were mirror images of each other. The roof and door pillars were seamless in appearance.

One of the people standing there looking at it mumbled "Why would someone go to all that trouble to do that to a car?" The owner and builder who was standing 2' away laughed and piped up "Because I could!"

Thinking about it afterward I wonder how he got away with running that on the road. I'll bet he must have a set of magnetic taillights that he sets on it while going down the road.
