WHY?...
If JD secumbs to the siren's song of profit...YOUR Kubota sales should take off...
Unless Kubota is going to follow JD into China and DOWN the slippery slope...

I'd buy ORANGE, before I'd buy China GREEN!!!

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Kubota doesn't seem to be a follower but you never know. John Deere sells alot of those ( in my opinion )low quality, low priced lawn tractors in Home Depot. Maybe you will see these in Home Depot?

We can give our opinion of what we see from China, but maybe Deere see's what's to come? Just 20 years ago I saw what was coming out of korea. Now we see cars that are showing some quality, maybe not Japan quality, but they've come a long way from the day when a Hyundai Excel with 50k miles on it was worthless. Plenty of 1986-9? Excels blowing oil smoke over our roads (very weak engines). As to tractors the Kioti DK wasn't introduced til 1999, and the CK was in 2003.

China a large country, with a future if quality is pursued .......... ...Japan..Korea...China? We don't know the future. But if I had a lot of cash, I'd put some of it into the Chinese market.

.... Tim

Im kind of hoping the opposite -with China's hyperactive economy imploding on itself because it cant be self sustaining. By us having a full blown recession will only cool off theirs as well. Hopefully common sense will rule the day, and we can start bringing the jobs back to the U.S.

If I'm not mistaken, the JD/China thing goes back alot further than last year. I know I saved the link to a business website that "quietly" announced it and when I find that link, if I kept it, I will post it here.

Yep, I kept the link concerning John Deere going into a joint venture with the Tianjin Tractor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. It dates back to Wednesday August 09, 2000 and here is the article if anyone wants to read it. Well, I guess for now, I can't post the link for all of you to read but, the way I'm going, I'm sure I'll be able to do that in the very near future.
