Default Fuel

woof
Since June 1st
$831.
and still Big Blue needs to be filled (another 10+ gallons)
But right now everything but that is full.

Took the truck with the fuel tank on it to the pumps. It had 1/2 a tank plus whatever was in the aux tank (105 gallon tank).
Took teh card inside so it wouldn't shut off.

It still shut off
AT $300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the damn thing wasn't full.
ugh, $341 total!!!

good thing there is no inflation

I swear if someone says they are a banker I'm going to smack 'em. Why exactly are we saving banks (who make money on risk) on our backs?

Not sure how you handle the fuels costs - but I build the damn thing into everything I do. What used to be free local deliveries (mulch, rock, topsoil) now has a delivery fee. Everybody else is starting to wake up, if not the expense literally eats up the profit in one fillup. Now more deliveries are needed to make it worth while. Vicious, vicious cycle -

I feel your pain Lone... ... believe me, I do. I just had to pay 15% more for screened loam just so I could pick it up closer to my jobsite and save as much as possible on fuel.

One of my supposedly "consumer-friendly" advertising and contract provisions reads: "Never a fuel surcharge ever"!

Once again, the old Dougster™ proves that he really has his pulse on how to make a business fail at breakneck speed.

I suggest you change that like right now - no reason to have it when nobody else does...

Strictly speaking, it only applies to my posted time & materials rates... which currently comprise exactly zero percent of my work (what little work I have is all lump-sum, fixed-price bid). But yes, it is making me look a little silly in these bizarre times.
