In addition to making a top notch product, you might find they are lower cost than OEM blades. I found them to be about a third less than OEM for my Cub.

I'm sure location will have an impact. Oregon Chain Saw is in my back yard so to speak and I don't know where the OEM blade come from.

For some reason they still refuse to make Gator blades for my 44" deck... They make them for every other Cub deck ever made, but not mine (le sigh).

You probably dont even need them with that deck. The 44" is a vacuum creating, mulching machine with stock high lift blades. Cut quality is tops, and clippings are dispersed and minimized. I'm sure the 2500 and 3000 have the same type of deck shell, at least they did

The deck seems to do good now that I removed the chute. Before that though, it would clog way too easily for my taste. Mulching simply hasn't worked because the deck would get too packed with grass within 15 minutes. This is because normally during the spring we get enough rain for the lawn to grow a couple inches a week, and to never "dry" out. So I'm always cutting a fair bit of length off, and cutting damp grass to boot. I'm thinking this year I might try mulching again, and bump up my mowing frequency to twice a week. Gives me more seat time, and would probably be better for the grass anyway.

Is it true that cutting off small bits of grass more frequently is better than cutting off longer pieces more infrequently? Assuming both result in grass that is about 3-4" long afterward, of course.
