Can anyone recommend a good lawn tractor?
Private use only, mixed terain, for an acre of grass and growing.

Quick dually 44" ZTR walk behind commercial mower w/dual step saver....would be my choice

Better commercial wide area cut commercial lawn mowers and leaf blowers.

How much you looking to spend?

A budget has not been set, thinking ahead for next season.

A standup? Not something I considered.
I was thinking lawn tractor / ZTR.

My lawn is so irregular there is no help for it. Wouldn't matter what I had as long as it starts and can drive up this one steep but short incline. (chains on the drive wheels work unless the grass is damp)

I run around in a cheap Craftsman LT, then start up a walk behind to get the edges looking okay. If I feel energetic I'll weed wack.

From the reading I've done it seems most owners of any premium brand zero turn, think the one they own is the best. just kidding- good luck shopping.

Damn straight Just so happen the one mentioned above is cost effective and for commerical use and a full ZTR (stand up).....they work through the direct channel with the savings going directly to the user....no middle and usless men to deal with....vey unique

for 1 acre yeah, its a slick move in my opinion

Mowing the lawn can be a lot harder than it looks. You need a definite plan to deal with difficult issues such as navigating rough terrain and achieving desired blade length. These are general guidelines for lawn mowing that you should consider. Of course, every garden is different and each has its own set of rules.

Blade height. Adjust the blade height at the push or pull lawn mower to the middle position. Mowing too low results on the ground burned in the sun. Court too long encourages difficult cutting the next time.
Cut into rows. The safest pattern for cutting the lawn as a rookie is straight lines along one side. This will keep your even rows and make sure you cut all the leaves with no points lost.
Circle of beds. Upon reaching a bed in the middle of the lawn, cut one or two rows around the circumference of the bed. This will ensure you get all the leaves around a difficult stretch of grass.
Check the bag often. One of the things that can ruin your lawn is to let the catching bag get too full. Then clumps of grass begin falling into freshly cut rows which can cause the grass to die falling groups.
Often court. Mowing the lawn is often the best way to encourage it to grow rich and complete. Cutting too often is simply a waste of effort and materials. Once every week or so should be sufficient for most climates.
