Well i guess the next few days will tell the tale as i plan on revisiting both machines again at the dealer and maybe just maybe i can make up my mind. If you guys have anything else that might help please feel free to share. Thangs again
To me, adequate dealer support is a simple go/no go... not a feature to be evaluated. Either it's there or it's not. And I think you have said that it is there in your area for both machines. Yanmar dealer support happens to be a bad joke in my particular area (MA/RI/NH)... although I stupidly did not understand how very bad it was at the time I bought. My bad for not checking that out better. Still, I'm starting to have success working around that problem by buying the parts manual and ordering Yanmar parts via e-mail through a very helpful dealer located in Florida. Other parts I am buying locally from Milton CAT and a couple of other construction equipment parts places. Touch-up paints I've had matched and supplied by local paint dealers. I have also located a couple of nearby indy construction machinery shops that I can employ for major repairs, if/when needed.

Obviously, net out-of-pocket cost to you should be a major concern as well as resale value. But the main issues should always be whether or not the machine meets your needs and how much you enjoy working the machine. If you can try them out a little at the dealerships, great. If not, rent one of each machine for a day (or even half a day) and put each one through the paces. I believe you'll know which one to buy before the end of the second day.

Im confused based on the documents attached the two machines are very close in perfromance (except PTO HP), so much so its not even noticable. Could I be wrong?

Duc - Breakout force is considerably higher on the CBL-40's FEL:

Well i spent a little more time on the cbl40 today at the dealer and i have to say the more i run it the more i like it. The hydraulics are silky smooth, it has power to spare even though it operates like a hydro their is much more power to the ground like the gst so it's like getting the best of both worlds. It does look kinda funny with such a short hood but it makes it great for visibility. To me looking at the cbl40 is like looking at a full size machine in a smaller package. I am hoping i will be keeping this piece of equipment for years so maybe by then the resale value part will balance out a little. I am leaning more and more towards the cbl40 but the way things have been going that could change in the next 5 minutes so stay tuned. Thanks again for the feedbackand again keep the feedback coming. It is greatly appreciated. By the time this is all said and done i am gonna owe a few of you some seat time on the new machine for helping me out so much.

Good luck BigKid!!! There is no wrong decision here. Just a matter of picking out what's best overall for you!

Well , this is all i really want to add. i talked to several kubota
dealers. all of them said the same thing. thay never had a tranny fail
in a L39 ever. thay even had to work on Hydro's on L48's but never a L39.
I am told its as close to the same shuttle in a full size hoe you can get.

now this fancy tranny in this yanmar if it breaks someday.
i bet you are looking at a fortune to repair. its made buy the same people
as a JD 110 , and i know i heard alot of hydro's had problems in them.

Something to think about.

or just go for the M59 , i hear it has the same hydro
setup used in there excavaters. so you know it brutal.
but we are talking serious---->

What ever you decide. dont forget to post
pictures.....

Chris....

John Deere 2520 , R4's , 200CX loader with 61 inch bucket and JD Tooth Bar. And Markham 7 tooth. Tooth bar. 46 Backhoe with 16 inch bucket. with Custom made Street Flip pads off a 448 hoe. Foward work lights. Dual rear work lights. Heavy duty Alternator. I-Match , Ballast Box , Frontier BB2060 box blade , Frontier pallet Forks , JD 3 point reciever hitch. and soon A lot more.. and for grass cutting , John Deere GX 255 with 48 inch deck.

Doug , your not going to believe this.
but i sold 5 2520's in a year over at the other place
cause i think its a good machine.....

if i believe in something. i dont mind telling people what i think.
i have tested the L39 and played a little in dirt. and read
every post at three different forums. have hardly ever heard a complaint.
or machanical failure.
i just think in its class of the cbl40 and the 110.
price for options and what you get for your money.
you just flat cant beat it. the only thing you can buy new in the compact TBL tractor market superior to a L39 is a M59. and then you get into a whole
new money bracket. but honistly its not really superior. its just a bigger machine.
thay are acualy identical in every way.
