In picture 5, is this a newly designed animal trap, such as tripping deer as they wander by? Inquiring minds would like to know,

"this morning I woke up with nothing to do, it is now afternoon and I have over half of it done".
Digging in hard clay is more relaxing to a worm than going fishing..

The wife and the tractor knocking dirt and stones out of the roots. I tried to flip it up using a cable and my 3/4 ton pickup..no good will have to dig a ramp. One more picture of the big rock, it's going back in the hole, too big to pick up with the FEL.

Get this, the wife said we need an excavator!! Too bad it would put us in debt (unless we raided the retirement funds. )
Mama Mia Tim!!! That is quite a stump! And it doesn't even look like you used Photoshop on it!!!

I think I'd want to cut that down some before trying to transport. Do you have a dump trailer? It would make it a lot easier.

Well here's the story: ever since they found the dead Bigfoot costume in Georgia I decided I wanted one too. That's a homemade Bigfoot suit trap. Wish me luck.

Really Larry, funny you mention deer, I use to see lots of'em before we started wrecking their backyard, and turning it into my backyard. (In case you missed it that was my anchor tree, used to pull the leaner down)

I wondered if the L35 would do it alone, or would I need to get in there with my cordless sawzall....really I am impressed, the little TLB does have the nuts (and bolts). It "don't need no stinking" sawzall....

I plan on washing a little dirt off the trunk and cutting it off at the root ball. The rootball will get rolled in one of my piles, the trunk's good for winter heat.

No dump trailer (it's on a long list of what I'd buy with some lotto winnings, all I need is the winning ticket )

Didn't need to dig a ramp, but it was close. I cut the trunk off the root ball, then rolled the root up and out with the backhoe.

Found this video of that tree coming down. Both my larger chainsaws had recently developed "issues" so we had to use my two 14 inch Echo saws. One got stuck in the tree, at the end of this short vid. you can see it drop out as the tree falls. It survived unhurt.

(it's a short clip, 22 seconds)

20 big stumps..

Digging them out is enjoyable, ..Big stump disposal, not so much, running out of easy to get to stump storage areas. Good luck on bidding.

Turns out there are some interesting twists to this job that make it near impossible to bid straight up. I suspect someone will way-underbid the job by accident or sheer stupidity and win it for sure... then scream that it can't possibly be done the way he intended to do it. I am going to hang back and let the dust clear before I jump head-first into strange waters.
