Default Sold my Massey 1433 today :-(

had to sell it, simply would have cost 4000 to 5000 dollars to register it and be legal for commercial use, It was only worth $12,000

Put it on craigslist a week or so ago guy was interested, drove out from kansas and drove it around and bought it.

I'm kinda sad to see it go, been a hell of a tractor. Only ever broke one thing (electric PTO switch $40) in 451 hours in 5 years and I used it hard.

stupid tax laws.
ridiculous.

Getting to be too expensive to do things the right way anymore, the government always figures a way to get their pound of flesh!

I feel your pain Lone. I know how much you liked that tractor. It's a damn shame but I understand your logic. No one knows better than me about the many ways government can squeeze and strangle the small businessman who is just trying to get by.

but, you know, if I was an illegal, it would be no problem
tonight coming home I'm going down the freeway, I pass this real POS truck, hand lettered on teh side
the air dryer is coming on about every 10 seconds, just driving down the freeway. clearly a leak in the air brake system.
But, hey, no problem for him.
me, I get a ticket and I try to get everything fixed.

I am sorry to hear about your loss ; it makes me when I hear the reasons behind it. Sometimes in my paranoia I believe there is a form of "profiling" going on. The super rich and media "darlings" are left alone , the taxpaying working middle class and working poor are, and "people who should be of interest" are left alone . I was in an airport recently and I was watching TSA staff working over a poor old lady in a wheelchair. Jay

Oh Lone... please don't get me goin'! After paying the state for my hoister's license renewal this past week, I decided to do some deeper research into just how many of my fiercest local competitors running skidsteers and backhoes are properly licensed and insured. Turns out it was even worse than I thought. Maybe 20% tops. But in this de facto sanctuary state and bizarre economy, people apparently don't give a damn anymore. Using unlicensed illegals and paying them in cash has become SOP and respectable... even "politically correct" in the most liberal circles.

The bottom line: Most folks today would rather save money by hiring the illegal aliens with their "zero overhead" prices. Will the illegals ever get caught and punished? . Zero chance.

Or even worse- will those who hire those illegal aliens ever get caught and punished. No Way! It seems the only people who get "caught" are those employers who are delinquent in their taxes and honest workers trying to make a living. It is sad how many "honest" contractors are out there in the market without proper liscensure. Rather than "shaking down" old ladies in wheelchairs, honest taxpayers, or dealing with the real issues, "Big Brother" continues to take the "safe" path. Jay

And wouldn't you know it Jay... My application to become an illegal alien and reap all the benefits has been turned down again.
