I guess that's why Gempler charges more...to pay for those pretty pictures on their internet site...

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Yea I agree my picture is way better. Sorry Paul, when I first went to the link you posted I didn't see the page 72 notation.

Any way it doesn't matter where ya buy it, just now you know what to use.

Well I tried that..no luck.

The 45' zerk I installed is worthless for this spot, it's a recessed hole, and about an 1 1/2" down is the zerk hole, so when I screwed the 45' in it, it hit the top of the recessed hole...can't get the gun on the nipple. I put the straight one in again tried for an hour.... This is getting frustrating, there's no way I can get that "Grease Joint Rejuvenator Cleaning Tool" in there, I could barely get my old gun on (it's an old two hander) it's got a thin hose that'll break if I keep bending it to force it on.

Ideas: #1 Put an adapter in the hole to raise it slightly and put a 90' zerk in that.

#2 Use MAP gas to melt the blockage.

#3 If that don't work...remove the bushing and clean it...rather not.

The pictures show the two tight fit adapters available. The slide on one won't work. The other one I'm not sure if it'll work... looks too tall..might work though. I just ordered it and the "Grease Joint Rejuv...tool" If it works it'll be a hundred bucks well spent..better than wrecking a joint.

Help me out here Tim. I'm old, half-senile and get easily confused. Have you bought and actually tried the tool shown below or not?

Not you Doug,, I'm the senile one today, while I was typing earlier about how the tool won't work for me I decided to try the 90' degree add-on coupler, so I thought maybe with that coupler the joint cleaning tool might work. I'm really hoping the coupler will actually fit in there, so I went to Gemplers online site and ordered both this morning. If it doesn't work I'll try something else. (I ordered it three day shipping, I'll have it before next weekend)..........so to answer your question: Yes, That's the tool I bought (well..I ordered it), no I don't have it and no I haven't tried it yet.

Got it Tim! Looking forward to seeing exactly how well that special tool works!

I'm sure you are already well aware that "zerks" can be bought in all sorts of sizes and types... although not necessarily all at your local auto parts store.

If you are so inclined, I'd love to see a photo or two of that nasty problem zerk. I'm still having a little trouble visualizing why it is so very hard to reach.

Okay Doug I finally grabbed the camera and some papertowels (to clean up area).

The lower swing arm bushing has very little room directly over it, as you can see in picture three. I can get one of my guns on it, but only by bending the hose right up to the breaking point. The Lincoln won't go on unless I add an adapter. It looks roomier in these pictures than it really is.
I'll get it done soon , I bought a 90' elbow in 1/8" pipe thread male/female. When my joint cleaning tool shows up (tomorrow or friday) I'll rig it up to the elbow with the coupler directly connected to it, this should give me ceiling room, fill the tool with penetrating oil and..... well, I hope it works.

Why did they put lower zerk on the BOTTOM of the joint??

Got more on "operation stubborn grease joint "

Saturday morning, armed with my brand new Grease Joint Rejuvenator Cleaning Tool, a roll of paper towels and the will to resolve the blockages.

#1: loader bushing, I thought this would be a "piece of cake" so I started here....the tool did not do it, filled it with penetrating oil and whack! whack! etc. I wasted no more time and pulled the pin out. It took me some time to find the grease hole in the pin , packed solid. I doubt any tool could force anything through that solid plug! dug it clear with a pick (small tool). cleaned up a little emery cloth, back together and working good now.

#2: the lower swing arm joint, First tried the tool in many different boom positions, nothing. Removed the zerk and got some electric fence wire.
