Default 80% Decided on Kubota 2920

Hello All,

Thanks for all of the valuable information. I feel I've made the jump from 50 to 80% decided in the last couple of hours, reading the posts here. I am in the Burlington NC area and feel the local dealer has given me a good ball park price based on other comments. I'm still not locked on Kubota but haven't built up a comfort level with other tractors. The dealer has Kubota and New Holland. I didn't see anything in particular about the NH that made it stand out from the Kubota. I was thinking about looking at the Kioti. Does anyone have any experience. I live on about 6 acres with a small pond. I mow 2 to 3 acres and bush hog a couple. I want the hoe and loader for stumps, clearing, moving dirt, mulch, etc. I have plenty of uses but the tractor will probably be used only about every other weekend. I would probably buy used but there is no point in not buying new at the prices I've seen used ones go at. I could go on, actually trying to make this short. Does anyone have any suggestions or questions?

Thanks

Thumbs up

Well I will start with a warm welcome to the M.U! we are glad you stopped in and participated with us! I'm pretty confident we can answer your questions - the 2920 is getting many good reviews and the feedback from users are good - we have a few on board and its a nice machine from what they all say. The only question comes down to the right size - Kubota really covers the size incremental like no other Manufacturer. They have filled the sub-compact to Compact line completely with no gaps in products to offer. Its a tought choice and each model offers something additional to the model before it - the price creep also comes into play.

It should be a fun time in selecting a new machine - don let it be stressful and take your time!

Welcome to MU

How close is the Kioti dealer? If it is real far away I would not even consider it...The dealer support MUST play a huge role in your buying decision.

Welcome aboard! Kenny's right about the dealer...you gotta feel comfortable that they'll be there after the sale. I go an extra half hour farther to the dealer I like, but I know I can count on him.
Try to find what your needs are as far as you can determine, and then buy a tractor that is about 25% more capable than your intended usage. The tractor will last much longer with fewer mechanical issues, and have a greater residual value when you go to trade up!

Scrambler:

Welcome to MU ! I agree with the other posters. Sit on as many different tractor seats as you can as well as get a "feel" for the different dealers. A good dealer will save you money in the long run. Most of your major brand tractors within a given a HP range and frame size are pretty similar in performance (weight may be the biggest variable). Jay

Welcome, I have recently upgraded from a N.H. sub compact to a Kubota compact B2620 and couldnt be happier. As one has mentioned in this thread the B2920 same tractor as mine (size, weight etc...) just 3 horse more. Take a look at these models.

Kubota 2620, loaded R4's, FEL, FROPS, 4FT Bush Hog box blade, 5ft Bush Hog landscape rake, Toro TimeCutter Z ZTR 5060 w/ 50" deck

Default Thanks for Responses

Thanks for all of the responses. I feel comfortable that the Kubota is a good choice when I am ready. It might be spring now at earliest, son totaled his car on Tuesday. He's okay but I've been kind of bummed and not ready to buy a new toy.

Hope everything works out for your family...and you have to let us know which 80% of the Kubota you finally acquire...

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Default Is This Price Fair?

The 42 month 0% financing is calling me. I would prefer to deal with my local dealer and have only been there. They have quoted me a B2920 with FEL, 60"mmm, and backhoe for $22,900. The tires are loaded, first service charge is parts only. I'm not worried about a few hundred dollars but would like to know if the quote I received is reasonable. My son is okay and is buying a beater car from his uncle so cash flow isn't hurt as much as I thought. Thanks for responses to date.
