Points: 0 | Kubota Tractor Help I'm new to the site and am looking for my first tractor. Been looking hard at BX2350 & B2x20, both w/FEL, 60"MMM & front snowblower. Recently moved to new place w/ 3 acres of woods, 2 acres native dryland grass & .5 acre good grass -- all on fairly hilly terrain. Will mostly use for mowing and clearing snow, but will also do a fair amount of landscaping as well. Didn't want to buy too big a tractor, but also don't want to be kicking myself for not going big enough. Am concerned about maneuverability due to some tighter areas around trees. Also wondering if I should be looking at 54"MMM due to terrain.
Any help would be appreciated!

Any help would be appreciated! | Hello and welcome to the M.U! It looks like you did you homework and you have a good idea of what you need overall. It sounds like it just comes down to the most machine you can get without outgrowing your needs.
I would stick with the larger decks for mowing on these size machines -up to 64" typically. The reason is it gives you better trimming abilitity over the 54", and enough width outside of the tractors width. This size tractor on up to the B2630/B3030 series make for great finish mowers, and great maneuverability, so you will be covered there with a smaller machine.
It comes down do what machine you can comfortably afford at this point because what you selected is capable and will handle what you asked. I do like to go as big as possible - so you dont suffer buyers remorse (even when its not warranted).
Not sure where you are located but if anywhere near NY, give Kevin at Emerich Sales (site sponsor link ) a call to see if he can fit you into the machine for you

Welcome to MU ! I agree with Duc about mower deck size. It appears that you are looking at the right HP requirements and frame size for you stated needs. I would sit on and try as many tractors in that general size to get a feel for both the tractors and dealerships. A good dealer can save you money in the long run. Points: 0 | Welcome aboard! I would just advise to look for a tractor that is a bit larger than the largest anticpated task. Doing this will give you a machine that is always working within it's capabilities, will require fewer repairs, and will have a higher residual value when you decide to move up. | JD 2520 w/46bh, 200cx loader, meyers 6ft plow

As always great responses from all.
I also recommend finding the tractor that will fit your needs and then buy one size bigger. The BX and The B-20 Series have good maneuverability but the B-20 series has a little larger tires which will help in the woods. I also recommend going to the 60 inch mower because it sticks out a little farther for getting a close trim around things.

Points: 0 | Thanks everyone! Was originally leaning toward used, but once I saw the high residual values and not a huge difference between new w/ warranty & 0% -- figuring to go new now. Best pricing received so far is: $15500 for BX2350 w/LA243 FEL, RCK60B22BX MMM, & B2750D 50" 2stg blower. $19530 for B2320 w/LA364 FEL (is LA364 even available for B2320?), RCK60-29B MMM & B2750 blower. Seemed like a pretty steep price difference for similar horsepower and not a huge difference in loader capability. Any thoughts?
I live in the foothills of CO. Most of our snow is powdery, and wanted a front mount snowblower since the driveway is 450' and didn't want to wrench my neck w/ a rear mount. Does anyone know if the B2750 2 stage is adequate for this, or do I need to look at a beefier model?
Thanks again! | | | |

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Points: 0 | i picked up my bx24 about 3 weeks ago and love it. i have 20 acres here and bought it for same reason as you. yard work and stuff around the property. mostly what i am doing is brush hogging, grading and raking. my property is all wooded so i am running in and out of trees, tight areas, etc. and i am glad i didn't get anything bigger. it has plenty of power for anything i need done here. while under normal circumstances i would say go a size bigger but if you have wooded property the bx is going to be up your alley.
