Default Do Not Let Your LTC to Expire!

For a variety of reasons I had let my
Pistol Permit/License to Carry expire awhile ago . No longer wanting to be a potential felon and strongly and often "encouraged" by SWMBO/SCA . I went through the MA Reapplication/Application process last March, including going to the Smith & Wesson Academy for a gun handling course. I finally got my new LTC today almost a year later . Jay

This is not the state in which to forget such things.

Congratulations old Jayster on "outlasting" the system! I know damn well you will never forget again!

I respect you willingness to maintain competency with small arms. You are fortunate that your rights are unhindered in your region of the US.

Thanks and I agree. I would not be surprised that in our lifetimes there will be even greater restrictions on one's "Right to Bear Arms" and maybe even bare our arms

    - my LTC was hand delivered to our house. The officer told me that the firearms bureau people are probably still trying to find all my old fingerprints .

I was going to suggest that they contact "Rara Avis", but thought better .

The next time you let it expire...you will be real surprised at what has been added to the refresher exam...

Oohooo Noooooo! Will that be from the prone position, cover the suspect...or, more likely...pay the government.

God only knows some of the places (and things upon which) they found the old Jayster's fingerprints!!! The list probably reads like an up-front and personal history of 60's and 70's sex, drugs and rock & roll !!!

Involving former NSA/CIA "super-spook" Brother Paulster is obviously the "nuclear option" here... the ultimate wildcard. But use it with extreme caution. Folks might begin to "disappear" all over the place... and one of them disappeared persons could eventually end up being you!

I kind of skipped the music part . It was "a time of happiness- sex and dope" . The dope was not always free . Jay

PS: My past probably explains my present situation .

Not familiar with the term LTC. Out here typ called concealed carry permit.

Don't have one and don't really have an interest. BIL is a cop and he advised my youngest he may want to give 2nd thought on getting one. Advice included the fact that if you had a CC permit that info would show up on any record check an officer would make. During a traffic stop if the officer does a record check on the license they would see the registered owner has a permit and that officer may choose to treat you as armed as he approaches and not be so friendly. I don't need the hassle.

Oregon has a much stronger "right" in its constitution regarding gun ownership. As that applies to CC, the state must give you a CC permit if you don't have anything on your record that prevent you from owning a gun.
Practice makes perfect: After many decade of hard work and practice, it now takes almost no effort to get tired.

Ray Bream - May the most you wish for be the least you get, - BUT work for it.
