    Default Supply and Demand

Unreal...the demand in the firearms market has remained so high for so long, that the supply of product has nearly dried up. Manufacturers of the most popular choices now have a 3 year backup, and ammo makers are operating with 4-6 month backup.
Most manufacturers have ceased selling spare parts etc, in an effort to push out more completed product.
Most consumers think that they're in a race agains't legislation, while some are concerned for the safety outlook in this economy.

I have noticed that the ammunition shelves at the two sporting centers where I frequent are pretty sparce. Jay

It is a race against time... anyone with half a brain can see that... and the old Dougster™ is losing it. Hopefully, "Project AR" gets back on track with deposits placed by June 1 or the whole idea is probably kaput.
