I've been looking forward to a product with this type of versatility. I'm hoping we'll see it in .243 and .308 chambers also.

GM - Can I get your opinion on the SigSauer SIG556 SCM?
Products & Services
As I'm sure you are aware, they are made right up the road from me in the great State of New Hampshire... and there is a $300.00 rebate on them until March 8th or whenever dealer supplies run out (whichever comes first!).
My preferred local dealer has 7 of them in stock or arriving before the rebate ends and is asking $1,339.00 + sales tax cash price... less the $300.00 rebate... i.e., about $1,100 net all told.
Seems like an amazing deal for a MA-compliant gas piston operated AR.
Your professional opinion please!

Centerfire Rifle - Model R-15 - Remington Centerfire Rifles
While I have no direct knowledge of this rifle, what I have read sounds good, and I would have no problem picking one up. I have used, and currently own Sig products, and have been very satisfied with their quality!

No real interest in this Remington Brother P.This is all about going gas piston... and whether it makes more sense to buy the kit for my Bushmaster or to go with the SigSauer offering instead.

Lots of folks around here seem to be lining up for this $300 rebate deal. I remember when I was buying my Bushmaster for about $1K how those with the tall greenwere all buying the Sig for $1.5K.
I remember trying it out for size & fit and being slightly less than impressed with the workmanship compared to the Bushmaster... however, it didn't seem to phase the Sig buyers one bit!
And it *was* a pretty darn impressive design.
With my "musket" initiative stalled dead in it's tracks, my sometimes idea about finding a decent used (pre-ban) AK pretty much dead as well... and with no bargains in gas piston conversion kits anywhere on the horizon, I can't help but wonder if this Sig rebate deal makes sense. It's not like I need it today or even tomorrow... but will I be kicking myself in the arse somewhere down the line for not using that $300 rebate while it's available???
And yes, it would mean more "pruning" of my handgun collection to pull this off... always a painful exercise.

Nope, NOPE, NOPE!!! No plans whatsoever to trade or sell the Bushmaster M4A3.
This SIG 556SCM was to be an addition to the arsenal, not a substitute, had I been able to pull it off.
But I couldn't...... so I didn't.
Now the only question is: Will the $300 rebate get extended or re-instituted and give me a second chance somewhere down the road?
