Understood Brad, I was just curious.

I have exchanged a few PM's with Nelson myself-and I agree he is top-notch!

He actually sent me the first PM to thank me for frequently mentioning his products (particularly the diverters) over at TBN.

John Deere 4110HST
FEL, MMM, FEL Forks (homemade),I-Match, Ballast Box, #380 plow (modified to fit) Markham LD-48 Grapple, and lots of other STUFF.

Brad,

You might have mentioned the size grapple - 48" I heard would be a perfect size for our 61" bucket. How are they in weight? and they remove fast between a regular bucket, then back to a grapple? I know you dont have it yet, but you know enough already

Yes - the grapple works with the JD quick attach system so very rapid on off. There will be a bulkhead with quick connects so two hoses disconnected and two pins pulled to get the grapple off. I want a freestanding grapple not an attachment to my bucket b/c I feel that is more versatile. WR Long 48 RGB-2 is rated at 325lbs for the 48 which still leaves room for a lot of lifting.

Is anyone familiar with the stock diverter setup? I pick up my 2720 (with diverter for MMM lift) this friday. A grapple is my first order of business. I guess I will have to engage the diverter lever below seat to open and close grapple.

Congrats on the 2720 - you will be the first here with one and I think its important that you tell us about it!! I also want to thank you for joining us at the M.U ! I have a 2520 which is close in functionality to the 2720 but I dont have a grapple on it. I just picked up a L39 with a WR grapple (66" or 61" I have to check again). The diverter on the L39 is a electric push button that provides flow to the front quick disconnects. Its easy to do the switch between FEL and Grapple. Deere QA are just as easy/effective as skid steer QA.

I have been doing tons of tree work lately - want to build up inventory for sale/use. The grapple picks up huge logs and holds it up while I cut them in usuable sections. I then use the gapple and pick up the logs and into the truck. Real Handy and fast! best tool in the world in my opinion

Go with the 61" FEL bucket and a toothbar - best inexpensive tool for the FEL. The 200cx loader on this machine and mine really produce great performance. I have pictures of my 2520 lifting 800lbs (+) on pallet fork that weigh 405 lbs to max height. Thats great for this size machine

I get My L39 tomorrow - yeah!

I will be using the 200 CX loader with the 61" bucket from my 2305 on the 2720. I also have an LX-4 rotary cutter and a frontier 48" box blade, (which was way too much for the 2305 to handle). This is the first forum that I have ever joined and so far it has been an excellent source of information.

I'll be the second to welcome you to MU, 3 more posts and you can show us your machine.

well the first thing you will notice it the huge jump in speed in lift, dump, and down cycling over the 2305. The bucket being a little big on the 2305 will be perfect on the 2720. I would think the 48" Box blade would be fine on the 2305, but it will be just enough clearance (tire tracks) a 60" would be better if not too late. But a 48" will work! Dont forget to load the tires with Rim Guard - you need weight in the tires you take advantage of the loader full abilities. You would aslo need ballast assuming you have the box from the 2305 still?

I have not seen the new manual diverter that JD is offering-only heard about it...While I think it will work, I do not think it will be user friendly at all for a grapple setup. reaching down under the seat will get old very fast!

A diverter setup, with a button on the joystick is they way to go!

Awesome - welcome aboard. A lot of us have many hours of experience on the 2520 and doing custom projects. As Kenny said, I don't have experience with the mechanical diverter but will try to help you out as best I can. Search posts - there is a lot of info out there to read on grapples.
