Default 2520 Hydraulic Side Link

Hey Gang - finally finished my T-N-T project. I ended up using this cylinder Surplus Center Item Detail. Then I took it up to my welding buddy and we proceeded to cut off the one end and grind it flat. Then we unscrewed the other clevis end. The screw is fine thread 1 1/8 in so I went and got a nut that would fit it. We cut the two clevis ends off the original side link paying close attention to the angles at both ends (used welding wire to recreate the bend in the side link as a rough template and transfer it to the new hydraulic side link) Then we welded the nut to the original clevis end and screwed it onto the rod. We then proceeded to weld the other clevis end onto the cylinder after putting oil in to keep the cylinder somewhat cool in an effort to protect the seals. Dipped it in hydraulic fluid to cool it during the welding process. Primed and painted it and attached to the tractor. Perfect fit and works great!

Cheers,
Brad

Okay Brad...now let's see pictures where you are flailing this nice system...

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Thanks Guys
Duc - appreciate the comments. Chris - glad to hear you are doing well. Paul - will get the pics out this weekend of the work around the house. New project is a rock wall. I am collecting field stone up the road - we are going to plant sunflowers for a Biodiesel project in the field I am clearing. My two neighbors and I are working on it together - will post about it soon.

Cheers,
Brad
