Default Top of the mornin to ya!

I've been fiddlin and piddlin around here for some time now and it occurred to me that I'd never stopped and said a proper howdy.

I'm Russell. I like to play in the dirt. Kinda like a kid with a tonka truck. Only the sandbox is a lot bigger and the tonka truck is more expensive. I gave up the sand ladle for a 35 horsepower shovel and scraper. I also like to cut grass and brush that is taller than I am. It must be part of the "little man" syndrome. If the problem is bigger than I am I'll take it out type of mentality.

I'm fairly green in the equipment industry. I've only been doing this for 7 years but I've managed to destroy 2 machines and now I'm on my 3rd. Thats the beautiful 'Bota on my avatar and profile picture. A new 0 hour machine should surely outlast an old ferguson 9n or a baby rice tractor, right?

    Thats me.

At this point I probably will have more questions to ask than answers to give simply because there is such a tremendous amount of old fashioned know how assembled here.

By the way, love the site. You guys and gals are a HOOT!

Good intro RJ! Welcome to the MU!

Just ignore the old Edster. He's been "out in the field" too long!

The old Edster is on a mission to impugn my integrity by posting his own family photos and then calling them mine.

It's all because he is jealous of my tractor with it's uncracked R4 tires!

Welcome!!! There's a good bit of knowledge here, and also a large constituancy of New Englanders that you need to overlook. They mean well, but genetics and environmental conditions have left them in their current state. I'm currently here doing missionary work, attempting to provide proper guidance and education. We'll see how that goes!

At any rate, jump on in, the water's fine!

Welcome RJ. You never know what you'll learn on this site. That 'Bota looks like it'll hold up I cut tall grass and dig in the dirt with my L4630.

What model number is your new tractor?
    - 2003 Kubota L4630 compact utility tractor w/ loader & backhoe, bought new.
    - Category 1 Implements include a Befco tiller, 6 ft Bush Hog cutter, antique Massey Ferguson 3 bottom plow and a post hole digger
    - 1986 Kubota G6200H garden tractor, bought in 2005 to maintain lawns and harvest grass clippings for mulch.
    - 2004 Ariens 1128 PRO walk-behind snow blower.
