Not knowing where you are located...do you need to buy one or just rent one?...If it is just rent one, check with your local conservation center as many have them for rent, again this depends where you are...

If you are wanting to buy...

Owning a drill isn't a very good investment vs return proposition unless you have a LOT of acreage, OR, you find an excellent deal on a lightly used model. (But, those deals are out there.....)

10'ers aren't that common. Smaller models lend themselves to easier transport. Those smaller models are often the ones you'll find for sale.

Check with local soil and water conservation district for rental unit, or, often they'll have recommendations for contractors, rental yards, or low cost government programs where you can get the use of a drill without the full cost of a purchase.

Also, check with local wildlife "federations" (ie, Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, deer hunting organizations, ect) as they often have co-ops, or good deals on rentals.

Otherwise, keep ears to the ground and watch for that random "good deal" to show up. I found my Truax drill on Craigslist. It popped up, I jumped on it, and by the time I had it hooked to my truck to haul home, the seller had over 25 phone calls inquiring about the price. You gotta move quick on good deals, because there is a relatively high demand and a low "pool" of suitable used units.

    Good luck!
