Default JD 700 series garden tractor

Thinking ahead to the next tactor for lawn mowing purposes, I like what I see in the JD 700 series. I was looking at the 748, diesel w/4wd, and it looks like a nice replacement for my 425. I noticed that JD also has some scaled down garden implements for the 3pt in this series, moldboard, disc etc.. Mighty handy toy/tool for the homeowner with a small garden.

There is also a new model X749 that combines AWS with full-time 4WD. I haven't seen one yet, but I'll bet it has little impact on your lawn.

Cheers

I'm giving it serious consideration. The deciding factor may be the return of the 0%/36 mo financing incentive. Decision time will be in March.

Default John Deere X749

The X749 does everything an more than I anticipated. So far we have just used it with the snowblower and have yet to need chains or chloride in the tires...just the weights on the rear tires.
I'm a little concerned because I ordered it with the yanmar diesel and got the impression from somewhere John Deere may not continue to use them and wonder why?

lenniewayne,

Welcome to the forum! I wouldn't worry about the Yanmar diesel you have. Whether or not Deere and Yanmar remain partners, they both have a vested interest supporting the many machines they have sold. How about some pics of your X749?

Cheers

Welcome to the club at M.U ! worry not about the Yanmar/Deere relationship, Im sure support will be continued for a long time to come!

Thats a great machine that will last for a very long time - most likely be passed along to next generation familiy members, no problem
