That's great Mick, I'm sure he'll get years of use from it. Make him change out all the filters and fluids right at the get go!

Was talking to my son yesterday and he may be getting the tractor a little quicker than he thought. Turns out this indie freight hauler lives 5-6 mis away and just got home from their I5 leg and before the weekend they're heading out on their I80 leg. Almost sounds like they don't have any freight scheduled for the far East so will be heading back this way sooner than expected.

Son has also been giving thought on add the pto kit. Has been calling around and checking on E-Bay and not a lot of stock available on this model. He even resorted to calling Tuff-Torque and they told him they didn't have any in stock and price on next run would be in the range of $2k. He also called the JD dealership here in town and they did some checking and found they had 2 kits at their various dealerships. Have been in stock for 5-6 yrs. Said they would sell for $500-$600.

Anyone have any experience installing one of these kits?

Mickey,

A stepped up delivery sounds exciting! I'll ask some of my buddies about the rear pto kit and see if any of them have had direct experience installing one.

Cheers

Thanks JD. I was surprised to hear as part of the install you had to replace the back end of the trans. I guess that is part of why the cost is what it is. Was also surprise to hear the PTO had a female connection and if you wanted to use convientional attachments you had to buy a separate stub shaft to convert to male pto. Strange.

Well the tractor still isn't here, so much for quick delivery, but it's within a few days of being delivered. I thought I'ld post up a picture of it, and also a picture of an attachment I've just found and am working on getting. I figure that I can't let my Dad have all the fun with his Yanmar! The loader appears to have more dust than use, so I think it will make a nice addition to the tool shed.

I'll post some more pics once it arrives.

Well son, was surprised to see your posts. Welcome to MU. You are going to have to show off your new toy when it arrives. From the pic of the loader, can I assume that is the one that was on Ebay?

For a few that know me from MTF, Jeff is/was known as #1 son on that forum.

Well, I though I should post something to the thread, and I just found out about the loader today, so I thought I'd share the joy. I found the loader on CraigsList, it's in Colorado. Real nice shape, and a very fair price, encluding the delivery cost. So, I figured it would be a good start.
