Glad to have you with us Jeff. I think you're gonna love that tractor, I've had a 425 since 93 and it was one of the best purchases I made. If your gonna put that pto on her, get the attachment for the weights on the 3pt, that'll give you some ballast if you can't find a ballast box. Good luck with her!!

It's been a long a twisted journey to get the tractor out here. Trucker was a day late getting under way then he recently had problems in Iowa with the flooding next something came up and the trucker turned South to Calif before returning home. Latest word is delivery will come this Sat or Sun.

The old JD is getting VERY tired and is looking forward to retirement. Was kidding with the boys yesterday and told my youngest he needed to make up a decal for the new tractor saying Powered by YANMAR. Just what a JD needs.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome!

After 5 wks from purchasing the tractor, it actually showed up tonight. The shipper had removed the deck to make for efficient packing, so I got to figure out how to mount it 1st thing. Real straight forward, with getting the drive shaft lined up being the biggest pain.

The tractor turned out just as it was advertised and other than the headlights not working for now, it is in very good condition for 2000 model year with 280 hours. It puffs a little black smoke on startup, then runs real clean unless you bog the deck, then another little puff as the governer kicks in, and it's back to burning clean. I put about an hour on it tonight mowing part of the yard. The quality of cut from the 54" mulching deck is fabulous compared to early 80's 316 with 46" deck. My 2 1/2 year old daughter gave it her approval, as she loves to ride the tractor, as my Dad can testify.

The # 40 loader will be here towards the end of July, so that will come in handy around the house.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, and I hope to be a contributor to this forum in the months to come. Pictures to come...

Jeff

Where's the pics? Unless we get to see some pics, I expect to see it in the back of the truck this weekend.

Well I finally quit using it long enough to take some pics!

Mickey's grand daughter definitely gives it a thumbs up. Maybe I'll end up passing it on to her if it lasts as long as I hope.

Jeff, I've got the manuals on that series of tractor if there's something you ever find need of.
