Default Fair price for my X585??

Gentlemen:
I am selling my '02 X585 to make room for my recently purchased 3520. What I am wondering is what you feel a fair asking price would be?
It is in very nice condition (clean), has just under 300 hours, 54" mower deck, has rear wheel weights on HDAP tires, and has a front brush guard. It comes with a new seat as the original has two small tears at the base.

Am I crazy to hold firm on $6000? I just got offered $5500 without the deck from someone who wants to put a snowblower on it & not use it to mow. Would I be able to get close to $500 from a used 54" X series deck?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/comments,
Derek

Going by the 2008 Grounds Equipment Blue Book
Doesn't list a 2002 but the 2003 is
Estimated Ave Trade Value on 2003 X585 Tractor is $3080.00 to $3900.00
Estimated Ave Retail is $4840.00

Est Ave trade on 2003 54 mower is $370 to $470.00
Est Ave Retail is $580.00

Add about $50.00 for wheel weights and $50.00 For brush guard

Ave trade is about $3550.00 to $4470.00
Ave Retail is about $5520.00

Then deduct some for being a 2002 instead of a 2003

Now, Here in the UpState NY area we would sell a 2002 for around $4400.00 to $4900.00
But it seems UpState NY prices are a little lower than the rest of the country

You may be able to get more in your area.

Kevin

This info came out of the 2008 Grounds Maintenance Equipment Blue Book.

Once again, THANK YOU to Kevin for all your help! I actually got lucky (at least I think). I was talking to my financial planner today about an insurance matter & I mentioned I was getting a new tractor. He asked what I was doing with mine & I said it's for sale. He immediately asked for specifics and when I told him $5900 firm, he asked if he could bring his trailer and take it home tonight! Since we are friends I offered to let him try it on his lawn over the weekend and let me know for sure by Monday. He said he's 99% sure he was going to buy it.

He did have one concern though, and I am wondering if anyone could help with this. When the RPM's are up, it makes a sort of whine or slight chatter when I raise/lower the mower deck...almost like it is low on hydraulic fluid. It quiets considerably at low RPM's. It has done this since I purchased it with 103 hrs. I checked all fluids the book refers to, but have no idea how to check hydraulics. ANY IDEAS?

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Default It's gone

The X585 left this past weekend...to a good home. It will get the love and attention it deserves, and will have room to run. Though I'm excited to pick up my 3520 with gigantic 72" MMM & 300cx FEL, I know I'll miss my "just the right sized" 585.

Thanks for the replies fellas! I appreciate it.
