Chris..
Actually my 4100 was much better at low idle steering then my current 2520 which gets choppy at 1,000-1200 rpms. The 4100 was always smooth all the time. The reason why I do keep the rpms low is when Im putting the back hoe back on. Need as little movement as possible, but the steering is not great at those RPMs.

Chris- yours doesnt seem normal, I have worked in high heat like yours with my 2520, with no noticable loss in hydraulics

My steering is smooth all the time, regardless of rpm or temp. The only time I've noticed any chopiness was at moderate (not enough) rpm while moving/lifting a heavy load going up a steep slope. Increasing rpm corrected the situation immediately.

Same here - smooth and easy all the time no matter what temp or how long running

the tractors steering is fine when the motor is reved up.
i just ment at ideal. your trucks steers easy at ideal.
why wont your tractor. i dont think nothing is wrong.
its just the way it works......

Chris.....
Because trucks have a dedicated pump just for steering...and tractors don't...

Paul , i think you are correct.
But , when i drove the L39. i had a full bucket of dirt.
and at Ideal it steered easy as pie.
guess that is the difference in a commercial machine with 23GPM
and a farm tractor with 10 GPM.

Paul i would love to Adjust my pressure control valve
to have more presure. but Kenny would Scold me....
and i dont have a clue how or where to do it.
it has 2400 PSI now. i dont think 2500 would hurt anything.

You should have a unit that contains SYSTEM RELIEF VALVE and PROPORTIONAL FLOW DIVIDER<<<this might be where your problem lies...

It should be somewhere around or under your seat...follow those nice little hydraulic line from your SCV back to IT...
