Default 3 pt hitch

I just bought a Wallenstein wood chipper for my 3 point hitch for a JD 4300, it worked great the last few days. Today when I was done working I raised the chipper, and when I got back to the shop I went to lower the 3 pt hitch, it wouldnt move, I did not have the lock on, has anyone had this problem. I dont know if it is a linkage problem, please help!!

Thanks
Erick

Welcome to MU

I will assume when you say "I did not have the lock on" you mean the rate of drop knob under the seat? That is of course the most obvious problem. I have heard of the rate of drop valves sticking, and also the little shear pin that holds the knob onto the valve breaking.

What happened when you attempted to re-raise the 3PH?
Did you hear the hydraulic whine?

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Let us know what you've done to address the sticking 3 pt Erick. Several of us are J. Deere owners, and even if for some reason we aren't any help, we still want to know how and when you get it working..

BTW let me know how much fun..oops,.. how handy the Wallenstein chipper is..

Welcome to MU...
