Wow. We're famous for rain where I live, but I don't recall getting 2 days of rain in a single day!

Nice work by the way!

Here's what I did with my 3320/447. This rock was only up 1' by my .3 mile driveway. I wanted to make driveway wider so my thought was just move this small rock. Well, it was bigger then I thought. I dug around it and then pulled it out of the hole. Our house is at top of picture.

Nope, rock was too heavy for bucket, will push it over onto my trailer and move away. I had a 2520/200cx/46bh from July to Dec 07, it had some metal in trans screen and wouldn't push bucket down or raise bucket higher then 2/3s up. Dealer replaced power steering pump. But, then trans make funny noise and it steered really hard. As soon as I could give back to dealer they said they would fix it. Well they had it 3 weeks the 1st time in and 6 weeks the 2nd time. I couldn't wait for them to fix it. So, I upgraded to 3320. It a lot more tractor.I'm sure the old 46bh would not have been able to pull this rock out of the hole. I think I could have put a chain around and pulled it out with the 2520 (had loaded tires). The 3320 also has loaded tires (really helps with bh is off) I will say the old 2520 dug my sons crawl space under there 30'x72' (4' deep) house. It took my 2 weeks. The 46bh also dug lots of trenches (13" bucket), some were 6 1/2' deep for a long way.

This statement is for SWMBO...to justify the increase in tractor...

By the way...Nice foundation finish work...

That is a big bump in the road removed and a sweet crawl space. Great work done!

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get this rock out to make my trailer parking spot bigger. Actually thought the 'rock' was just a part of the hole rock hillside. Nice to see that the 2520/46 BH could dig around it enough to get it out. Can't lift it, so probably have to put a chain on it to try and drag it out. Or I could always buy a bigger tractor.

That is an impressive Rock - It would be hard to say how successful a larger machine would be at this point, the rock would cause pause for many machine. Dragging it seems like the only option - and push it in the woods

In most cases, my clients just want to get rid of an offending rock... or they want it moved to a place they consider it "decorative" or otherwise useful (think: blocking vehicle access). In the former case (the majority), the preferred solution is almost always to bury the rock deeper. A lot deeper. The beauty of this is that you don't need a monster powerful backhoe to get rid of an offending rock... even a LARGE offending rock. One's backhoe need only to be strong enough (and long enough) to dig the adjacent hole and push it in.
