You are learning what I learned also, the FEL plows are not all they are cracked up to be...they are to far out ahead of the front wheels, the geometry is bad for plowing (all the pivot points are high above the plow), they are hard to get the tilt angle set correctly, they make the machine to long, or more stuff like that!

I sold mine, and got a frame mounted plow, it is now a pleasure to use it!

I was thinking about trading mine in on a frame mounted one too, so I can get back to easy plowing and not having to worry about scarring up my driveway and the road!

Great posts folks. It's really great to hear the exploits of these smaller machines and how tough they were.

We have been using a Curtis FEL Plow for years and it seems to be working good. Your right it does make the machine longer.
We use the Curtis plow and the WR Long valve.

At least one of the guys has modified their brackets so that they can get the loader on and off in a few minutes without having to change brackets on the tractor to accommodate the switch to the frame mounted snow plow. That would get me over to a frame mounted plow real quick as I don't want to have to change brackets every time I needed to change to and from the snow plow.
