Default new tractor

well i finally purchased my first tractor today and made my first post on the forum. it will be delivered tomorrow. picked up a bx24 with loader and backhoe. after looking on this site and kubota's i was all set on the b2320 but when i got to the dealer and actually saw both of these tractors side by side it just seemed like the bx would be more manuverable through my wooded lot. i plan on brushhogging quite a bit of it. both tractors had the same kind of power so i thought the bx might be better suited for what i have to do. i hope i dont regret going smaller. other than clearing the brush i will just be using it for general property maintenance and some grading. ended picking it up for 14,999 which i thought was pretty good for incluing the backoe too. i really had no intention on getting one with the b because it would have pushed everything out of my price range. i am also getting a 42" bush hog and a land pride box blade. dont know much about either brand or if either one is good or not. any thoughts, comments or recommendations are welcomed

Welcome to the MU...

Too late to advise you...

Actually you will be happy with what you have...(except for Buyer's Remorse, which should hit you about the time the new products are announced...RSN...)...Land Pride is standup company...
Which model BushHog did you get?

I used to own an ant farm but had to give it up. I couldn't find tractors small enough to fit it.

Welcome to MU, and congrats on your new baby!! Use it safely, and remember, we want PICTURES!!

You might want to consider a skid plate to protect the plastic fan on the bottom, which has been discussed on more than one forum. These folks have one, and it is supposed to work with the mid-mount mower as well: Bro-Tek: Tractor Add Ons. I have no relationship to them, just repeating what I have read many times elsewhere.

Good luck

Fred

hey, thanks guys. i got it today and couldn't wait to rip around the yard on it and dig something. i didn't care what it was, just had to move some dirt somewhere!! i lied, it wasn't a bush hog brand it was a land pride brush hog as well. thats interesting on the fan. i'll have to check that out. thing that surprised me is how nimble the tractor is. it turns on a dime. very easy to manuver in between the trees as the dealer said it would. the dealer gave me the 3pt hitch in a box with about 100pcs in it. haven't really looked at it to close but that should be real fun to figure out the first time i do it. well, day one and only 1/2 hour on it. i am happy with it so far. i already have people telling me they might need to borrow it.....figures!!

Dont let them you charge for your services - thats whats friends are for IMHO they are never around when you need them, so you might as well get money from them because when the time comes - so do the excuses LOL

You should have a blast on it and those machines are very capable and proven. Make sure you have all the parts for the 3pt before you need it. removing the backhoe isn't difficult but it takes practice and maybe someone to show you how first. Otherwise its frustrating trying to guess how it goes back on.

well, i have been breaking in the new machine here and there all week. its so nice to have something like this when you have a chunk of property. all the stuff you can get done is great!! i must say that for such a small machine this thing does have balls. so far it has done everything i have asked of it with plenty of power to spare. anyone looking to purchase something like this and think they want a "B", dont underestimate the bx model. so far it has surprised me in every way.
