    Default first service b3300su

any pointers or tips or things to watch out for for first servicing on my b3300su?

not sure what position to put the backhoe/front bucket to change the hydro fluid, i'm thinking of putting so most of the pistons/rams are collapsed so i get the most of the old fluid out.

    thoughts?

by the way i have 56 hours and besides a few minor quirks i am really happy with this machine.

Sounds good to me.. There's no way to get all the fluid out of the hydraulic system without disassembly.. so try not to worry about being too thorough.

Treat it right and it'll outlast you.

Do you have full access to the rear to drain and refill all the fluid, because it did sound like you plan on having the backhoe attached for all of this?

Most machines its difficult at best (no room) when the backhoe is attached...

Below is a pretty good documented procedure and I appologize we dont have any Kubotas documented at this time as detailed like this - but it can give you some ideas of the overall scope.....I think Kubota uses fiters and not screens - I had my L39 done by the dealer at the time, because I blew a hose, so I never had a chance to try it myself.

Hope this helps a little bit....

thanks for the link, got it all done just a while ago with a couple calls to the dealer whom was very helpful.
oil was straight foward and the same with the fuel filter but was suprised i had to re-use the two o-rings. the tranny/hydro has 3 drain plugs and that was where i was confused but service rep said drain all three. the filter on the left was real tight getting out/in, right one was easy and this was with the backhoe subframe and hoe on.
only thing that go me was it called for 3.83 gal of hydro fluid so i took a 5 gallon pail and took one gallon out and poured mostly the rest in but i overfilled it, after draining some out twice it is a tad over the full line but i am going to move some wood into the garage and recheck after it's had plenty of time to cirulate. ended up being about 3.25 gallons with filters.
got to relocktite the backhoe controls where they go to the rods, they came loose on me once and again after using it for several hours yesterday but besides that i'm definately getting my money's worth out of this b3300su so far.

by the way my buddy said filling his 3030 with hydro is a royal pain but with this swivel seat and no rear cross plastic piece there was plenty of room for a funnel.

Sounds good did you change the axle fluid - front and rear?

front axle fluid change isn't until the 400 hour mark i believe and rear is part of the hydro/transmission i thought.

ment to say also that i took the transmission screen out to check and clean any metal fragments but there was only one or two that i could see on the screen.
