On my L39's QD bucket, I lost the clips on the pin so many times that I put a bolt in to hold it in place (not so quick now).

I still say you had to be using slightly undersized pins! But in my defense, please remember that I must contend with my pin mounted thumb (great for rocks, but a major impediment to bucket switching) and the fact that I only have one "good" arm to work with without getting the GF involved.

My point exactly! If the Kubota system is better, great. But it does not sound like an easy or cheap retrofit. But in regard to the majority of such systems one must ask one's self: Is it really worth the ability to change to a narrower bucket for trenching and stump work if I must put up with a weak, sloppy coupler system to enable me to do so? Or am I better off with a mucho cheaper set-up with one "compromise" bucket (16" or 18") and the joy of some nice simple, solid pins? We must each answer that question for ourselves and our respective budgets.

I guess we are on the same page. I have the compromise bucket (18"). and not QA. That was so I could afford some other attachments. The big stump wasn't the last in this land clearing project but was the last in the 1100' drivearound. Now its on to chipping up all that slash and saplings with the Wallenstein BX62. So far the L48 governer hasn't even kicked in when two of us have been feeding it with up to 3" stuff. Plenty of PTO power available.

Default 200 hr filter change

I am getting close to a 200 hr service. Can't believe I put this much time on since the end of March. When reading over changing the hyd filters the manual talks about draining the hyd fluid. I thought that all I needed to do was screw off the filters and screw on the new ones. What are they talking about. The hyd fluid change isn't suppose to be done untill 400 hrs. Larry, you have a L48. What do you do?

I keep a running log of the machine. No where as in depth and accurate as the beginning, I was writing in every single thing down with the machine on any given day, however, every 50 hours the engine oil and filters have been changed, tractor lubed and all other filters replaced but teh air, which I replace every 100. At 200 and 410 I changed the hydro oil and will do it again within this month with 592 hrs on it now.
