My reasearch has been limited too. I used Stihl at work for a couple of years and always found them to be heavy to lugaround. I stumbled on Husquvarna because my BIL had one. I fell in love with it. I've had mine for 10 years now. I average five to seven cords of wood a year. It has never let me down.

The Husqies are venturing more and more into the homeowner market, so, buying one at a Big Box store may be a lesser model, as with other equipment brands.
Check model numbers to be sure it's apples-to-apples. | Kubota BX2350 and more attachments than I have sense to operate.

Points: 0 | As I started reading the thread then brand names that came to mind if qlty is a high priority was Stihl and Huskie.
I have a smaller Sthil with an 18" bar and it has served me well for a number of yrs.
Have an uncle that has a Stihl pole trimmer and a couple yrs back trimmed something like 500 small oaks on his property. He has nothing but good things to say about Stihl. | 1970 Bolens 1257 w/tiller

Points: 0 | Hi,
Was just reading an ad for the local farm supply and they were pushing the Echo's who now have a 5 year warranty which is supposed to be the best in the business and Echo's are supposed to be a good product.
Going over next week to look at them as I have a occassional use for 1 nowdays and would like something with a good warranty.
Have a good one.

Tom | With only one good arm, the lighter weight Echo is my chainsaw of choice. I own two different models and no regrets. The old Edster makes fun of me for owning a lady's chainsaw, but so far they have always gotten the job done. The price is fair too. I wouldn't buy any other brand.

Points: 0 | i just picked up the echo cs-400. only have a couple hours of use on it but so far its great. the kid that works for me has a buddy that owns a tree svc company and thats all he uses is echo. says they run all day long and dont mis a beat. my dad has always been a sthil guy. he has 2 of them and while i can say they are built real beefy and nice, in the past 10 years there has always been one of them that didn't run or was in the shop. they have also always been very hard starting saws. i have heard that also from a number of other sthil owners. granted my echo is new but that this is running on the first pull by the time the pull cord is 6" out of the saw. the echo is very lightweight but could have a bit more balls. no regrets so far plus i picked it up new off ebay for only 200 bucks. how can you go wrong??
