Default JD EZtrak Z425?

Any thoughts on these machines? Seems like a real nice ZTR for the average home-owning shlub. Separate pump + wheel motor drive, spin-on oil filter for the drive system, decent wheel size, etc.. $3899 with a 48" deck? I realize it's not a fabbed deck or premium engine, but what's the weak spot on these? John Deere products for homeowners: Features for EZtrak Z425

I looked at them but I think the new EZ-Trak mowers aren't built heavy enough (my picky taste). The list price on deere.com is $4,650, and for that you could get a better conventional riding mower, like a X300 series. If you really need a zero-turn, you might want to check a Ferris IS500Z for close enough price. These sale for around $5000 and have independent suspension. Find someone who carries the Ferris commercial mower line. The only draw back is that is has only a 44" deck instead of 54"

Im just a little picky when it comes to "ztr" type of stuff for the homeowner, and its only my own opinion

Duc, am I looking at it wrong? Per johndeere.com, on the Z425, I see $3899 for the 48" and $3999 for the 54"? I wouldn't go much over say $4500 for a 'residential' machine. I haven't seen one up close, but the frames definitely look light, but fine for my usage. I may be giving my 2544 to my father-in-law when his yardman tractor poops out. Perfect excuse to get something new! (wink-nudge..)

I think I screwed up on the price...sorry

Only time will tell if there are any weak spots, but its the front spindles and hydros that take the beating IMHO. Its that way on commericial units as well
