Default any 2 cycle guru's out there?

I've got 3 different 2 cycle engines. 1 husq chainsaw, 1 husq weed whacker, 1 tanaka weed whacker. Aint none of em run right but at least the 2 husq machines are doing the same kind of random high end fuel leaning and richening on and off. The tanaka just up and decided it didnt want to start one day. After tune ups, carb rebuilds, and shocking my pants off on the tanaka magneto..... is it time to replace all of my small engine machinery?

I'll take a shot at the 2 husq. Almost sounds like the fuel tanks are not venting properly. Slight neg pressure and fuel is hard to draw in to the carb. When a certain neg pressure is reached, the vent lets in some air and things are OK for a short while then repeats.

Pull the fuel cap and inspect the rubber seal. Typ these have a valve that lets in air but doesn't permit fuel to leak out. I had to replace this seal once on my string trimmer as the seal felt sticky. New seal and all was OK again.

Sometimes the fuel line will rot inside the tank.

Some of the old reliable premix oils don't like gasohol. My Stihl dealer urged me to start using their synthetic oil, as it's SUPPOSEDLY better with alcohol/gas. Me not know that fer sure....Just repeating what the dealer tells me.

Alcohol is meant for adult beverages, not powering noisy outdoor power equipment.

I had heard that in the past at some point junk. something about ethanol and 2 cycle oil makes some kind of nasty varnish that will eat fuel lines and gum up a carb. I dont think I ever tried the synthetic oils that mix with ethanol. Have yall had any good luck with that stuff?

I dont know who the genius was that figured out that mixing moonshine with gasoline would be a good idea. If I had 10% moonshine running through me I dont think I'd last too long either.

Stick with the premium brand of 2 cycle mix - like Sthil or Echo and use super premium gas (or 91 at least or higher), most small engine mfg are suggesting that anyway these days....gone is the regular unlead brand of 87 octane in these engines

After soaking some carbs in some B12 chemtool overnight, using some 93 octane supergas, some "redmax" brand full synthetic 2 stroke oil from my local Echo dealer, and tweaking my carbs to run richer to stay cool with that mega super fuel, I have lift off.
My 2 husq machines are back singing their 12000 rpm song to the tune of LOUD! Yup. Needed better gas, better oil, and better adjusted needles.
