Wright was the first in the industry as far as I know. They are the only ones I see the commercial guys using in my area (which says a lot). It's unreal now though. ALL the heavy hitters are jumping on the 'stander' market. I just discovered Gravely is in on it too: Gravely - Commercial Grade Lawnmowers Including Zero Turns, Walk Behinds, and More Again, I've never used a stander style ZTR, but it's got to be the most efficent way to whip through your lawn.

We don't see many standers in our area but with more manufactures offering them and advertising them. I am sure we will see more!

On Long island they are the dominant player - IMHO. Plenty of W/B (ferris, exmark, skagg) but Standers are Wrights.
My dealer was pumping over 60 per month last year just on them
and they aint cheap -

Yup, they are pricey little buggers. I'm chomping at the bit in the worst way to have one for home use. I hate getting all shwetty in the seat of my Cub 2544, and to be quite honest, I've never been able to get all that comfortable on that beast. The 2K series have an odd, way up high seating position, but the steering wheel is low and mashed between your legs. I like the idea of being to hop on/off a stander to move stuff, plus the maneuverability for tight trimming, etc. I'd go ~$4K for stander, I just cant justify more for what I'd use it for. The first time my wife noticed a ZTR, she said; "I'm surprized you don't have one of those. That looks more like your kind of machine" [BOING!!! Insert exploding pants noise].
