Default Good day for a fire

Light rain yesterday, just enough that Connecticut lifted a burn ban. We got started at ten o'clock and finished before 4:30. Couldn't a picked a better day. The sun was out by 1:30, very light wind..perfect.

So how was your day?

Tim, where's the hotdogs and marshmallows?

Had a small burn pile fire ourselves yesterday but a lot smaller than yours.

Periods of heavy winds and rain today.

Pizza and pepsi

It's hard to get the weather right on my few days off. Today was fine for a brush fire. Back to pulling trees tomorrow...maybe.

You guys are lucky you can burn like that. It's generally agains't the law here, except for a few circumstances if you can get a permit, pay the fee etc.

Thanks for pointing that out gm, I didn't mention that we got a permit (good for a month) last weekend but was told it was too dry to burn...one of the few times I wanted a little wet weather near or on a weekend.

BTW: no cost for the permit, but we have to call before we start in the morning and call by 5 to let them know we're done (and no stump or leaf burning).

Great burn pile old Timster!!! Wish we could still do that up here in the Socialist Utopia... but it has effectively been banned.
But seriously now, aren't you concerned about Global Warming??? With my new "Green" persona, I would never think to do anything but pay to have it recycled!!!

No permits needed but do need to call a number to check if it's a burn day. For some reason burn days are day where it is predicted to rain or had just rained previous day. Makes for some interesting efforts to get a fire started.

Is it all Mass or just in that larger area of Boston suburbs?

Well..it's either burn gas in a monster chipper, or burn the brush. It's a tough one. I'll find a way to sleep at night.
