Question How do you mow grass wrong ????

After spraying a hay field for army worms, I decided to mow the yard. Now I am not allowed to use the lawn mower. Well hooked up the sickle bar mower to the ford 2000 and 30 min later the 1/2 acre yard was mowed, then hooked up the hay rake 30min later all the grass was in nice windrows. Not wanting to pick up the grass with a hay fork, well, the Massey does pull the round baler real good . Had one windrow left to roll and MIL,wife, son & son's girlfriend pull into driveway. DAD,POPS,FARMER (that is me) "you mowed the grass wrong" . Mother in law was laughing so hard she about fell out of the car .
Yard looks good, no grass clippings, no tire tracks so what can be the problem . Oh yea had been asking for 2 weeks for the yard to be mowed. The cows loved the roll of yard grass.

I would have to see a picture to see if you mowed wrong.

When I was working on firewood everyday and didn't have time for other jobs around the house, I put my wife on the riding mower.

I mow ''only one way'' because I have stripes in my yard..... I've been making the stripes for over 10 years, and they look good...... While my wife was mowing one day, I walked out in the front yard to see how she was doing.

I noticed right off that she was messing up the grass, and I told her .... I told my wife to mow up & down the yard, not around in circles or straight across...... My wife told me to mow it myself since she can't mow grass right.

Now that I'm finished with firewood, I can mow now and mow the grass right.

Loved this story. Let us know whether the regular operators will keep up with the lawn or whether you'll be making cow treats again.

Been on the road for 3 days, got home just before dark. There are a few places in the yard that are a little uneven (about 2in). Remember I was using a 7ft sickle bar mower, 19yr old mower on a 37yr old tractor, it is not perfect but it looks good if you don't get to close . If they don't keep the yard mowed, will have to do it again or bring 20 COWS up to the yard and let then mow and fertilize at the same time. That would go over like a in in church!!
I still have not been able to understand how I "mowed the grass wrong" . It got mowed just not in the usual way. I had the normal stripe pattern, just wider stripes at 84" vs the normal 48". Could it have been the 100hp 4wd tractor and round baler that was wrong ?

That is the true. Not many sheep around here, a lot of horses and cows. Cattle prices have been so low, below cost of production, for the last few years everyone has reduced herd size. You could buy a calf feed it on grass then eat it and still lose money. Around here you can't give a horse away unless it is something very special.
Something is bad wrong when gas cost more per gl than milk,or a pound of meat!!

Well it happened again!!!! Was on the road for 2 weeks, ok was home one night { after dark to before daylight }. Got home yesterday afternoon late and the yard looked better than most of the hay fields. This afternoon they went to a baby shower AND the yard got MOWED. Tomorrow it may be dry enough to round bale as hay. The only thing that was said " the lawn mower has a dead battery"
" We have 4 battery chargers that work,5 sets of jumper cables and wally world sells batteries. Ya'll can't stand it if you don't go there at least twice a week."
